December 21, 2013 - Back at it.
It took this long.
For the comic to finally breach a little bit into everything that the comic had become before and up into this point. Because at this issue it made itself worthwhile. This comic - front to end - really was planned into a re-birth for this comic, the Acclaim that would follow for a short time after - and I had hoped for Mr. Clermont, as well. But why, oh why did it take THIS LONG?
It;s strange to me that really within the first few panels of reading this thing - not only do I realize that this is something REALLY good, but I also know that the comic will forever change. Why can't we just keep going back to the drawing board until we find that, right? Here it is, kids. Beauty art. Great story. New focus. Success.
Back to business as usual?
Well, THAT didn't last.
I really had higher hopes when I read the last issue that the changes I saw would be a little more permanent. And really, I don't think that it had everything to do with the changes in Steve - or even the decision to hide himself or not.
The last issue just FELT so much different from beginning to end - with Hydra, the clashes... Even bringing the Avengers in.
And they WERE there. But unfortunately, by the end, it felt like the old WAY to misogynistic Steve. "Give up your role, honey..." And that hearkened WAY back to the old game. Ad foolish. It had a real opportunity to cut the old, and RUN. Instead - it ran back.
