January 16, 2013 - SURE! I like action!
Shadowman - with the rapping kid - is the better comic.
Do you think he knew it was ending?
Four issues from the closure of an icon. One that lived in every Valiant incarnation - and the only one.
Not entirely certain of the direction of this comic. But I liked the telling. Panels seemed straightforward, again. Easy to read - but some of the character changes are strange. Not certain why Ishmael became a temporary 'good guy' in the comic - or why he had to show Jack how he wasn't trying to kill him. But I did like how Ishmael befriended the blind man - even if it was inconceivable.
However, the rapping kid - and the rap CONTEST! That needs to go.
I must not love the action...
The cover again is pretty good. But the story within is well... fair.
It's another example of the lowest common denominator getting the least attention. The group is okay - but the Unicorn? Really? Bleah.
Storyline is fine. And in fact, a bit good. I liked the continuing changes in allegiance - and the double-cross, too. But so many details are sort of brushed through.
I am not certain about Stan's ability to write - or hold control. As an idea man, he's phenomenal. But on the nuts and bolts of the storytelling...
This one falls flat, again. And it COULD have been much better.
