January 25, 2014 - DIE NOW!
I think I will pick Iron Man here.
It comes to a close.
And it is somewhat satisfying - that's what I love in an ending. Close out some of the stuff - and leave some of it more open. That way, I can imagine the whole thing sort of continuing on into the distance as I leave. Or as Donovan puts it, "If I appear to be getting smaller, that's just me leaving."
The cover is a brilliant concept - and expecially since it is such a small part of the story. Don't waste time on it. Great. Move on to the two stories - and intertwine them back and forth. Donovan and Renata. Then reveal the cover-up - (while putting his own sense in a real perspective, of course) and moving back over to the line's end. And he is able to thumb his nose at his real antagonists - the ownership of the army. Something that he should have done ages ago. I liked the ending, but wish that it had taken this perspective months ago.
I still hate the LMD's
But this story was pretty darned good. Start with the art, though, which kinda wasn't. All over the place with the look. But the story was more than enough to overpower the look. That was fun. Even WITH the LMDs. I'm trying to put that to the side. Especially here, when it's just a tiny segment of the story - and certainly not integral to any section here. I'm just imagining in my mind that some other person had gotten inside the Iron Man armor and taken over. And that Madame Masque, and Tony were... Getting together...
I've liked this comic. Even with the over-exaggerated version of Midas as the villain. Not a bad comic. Certainly worth the read - just not the perusing of the art.
