September 24, 2013 - Back through the ringer
Hulk is still bad.
I love this setup. Both sides seem to have a pretty equal control over the truth in this comic. While the comic really retains all of its attack - it also adds this back and forth inside of both sides. This may be the hidden gem of the set. Read these suckers!
I also liked that the comic really set itself into reality. At the end - it has the aside that he's really at least three states away. Of COURSE he's three states away.
It doesn't leave the unreality of the villain inside of the wheelchair - but the comic is fun and easy to follow. It has built on the old nostalgia of the Bloodshot comic - and made it into something great. I may even like it more that the VEI Bloodshot - up until issue 14, that is.
The guest appearance of KA-ZAR!
I tried to emulate the line that Ka-Zar seems to constantly come back to over the months... The coming of KA-ZAR! Over and over again. Man, do I hate him. Sort of a Tarzan in the jungle thing - with a Sabretooth Tiger. I kind of liked how Hulk was transported over to Antarctica - riding on the Asian missile that crashes into 'The Lost Land...' Duh-duh-DUHHH!
But the comic is again at its weaker end of storytelling. Find SOME kind of way to stretch into a great line. A conflict, making him combine with Bruce...
Otherwise, month after month it's the same story of crashing into things, HULK SMASH, and beating up broken down stuff. Shouldn't some Avengers do SOMETHING?
