April 24, 2013 - And... SCENE!
Leaning to Magnus. And not just for nostalgia's sake. But both were good.
Not my favorite way to end things...
But it could have been worse. Usually, I kind of like the ambiguous ending - as long as it remains ambiguous, like this one. The whole 'popping out' thing has been overdone since Carrie, and the comic had opportunity to come back and wreck it there.
The differing opinions helped kind of close the story down. I liked that nearly everyone had a slightly different belief of Magnus's final destination - it gave for some hope and closure, too.
I just wish that it had come MUCH sooner. Have I mentioned that before?
This takes away the negative stuff.
Sometimes an are stretches out too long, and you figure that the middle few issues could easily be eliminated. Sometimes great stuff happens - changing the course throughout.
This one kind of does both of these pretty effectively. While there isn't a lot of plot advancement from last issue to this one, the change to the Negative Zone is a major one. And I really like that. Blackbolt is a great character - and his slow movements to convey are great.
The changes in the Doom story are minor - exerting control, etc. But nice to see that Reed returns to the soul of stuff. He can meet Doom on an intellectual level.
